  56. - Windows 95 or Windows 98
  57. - PC with a Pentium II, Pentium Pro, Pentium or similar processor
  58. - One free PCI slot (or two free PCI slots for SLI)
  59. - 16MB of RAM or more Suggested

  62. Installation
  63. ------------
  64. The installation below can vary depending on which version of Windows
  65. is installed.  To determine the Windows 95 version click Start, 
  66. Settings, Control Panel. Double-click on the system icon. If the 
  67. Windows version is 4.00.950b, Windows 95 OEM SR2 is running.

  70. Existing Drivers Installed or PCI Multimedia Device shown in Device Mgr

  72. 1) Start Windows and extract the drivers to a temporary directory.
  73.  
  74. 2) Open Device Manager (Start, Settings, Control Panel, System)
  75.  
  76. 3) Locate the existing reference to the card it will be listed as:
  77.  
  78.        Reference Card: Other Devices / PCI Multimedia Device or
  79.                Sound, Video, Game Controllers / Voodoo2
  80.  
  81. 4) Double Click on the card, then click the driver Tab
  82.  
  83.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Click "Change Driver" and choose
  84.                                         "Have Disk"
  85.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click "Update Driver" then click
  86.                                         the Next Button.  Click "Other
  87.                                         Locations" 
  88.                       Windows 98 users: Click "Update Driver" then click
  89.                                         the Next Button twice on the
  90.                                         Detection Dialog Box. Ensure that
  91.                                         "Specify a Location" is checked and
  92.                                         "Microsoft Windows Update" is not
  93.                                         checked. Click Browse to continue.
  94.  
  95. 5) Point the driver location to where the files are extracted to and click
  96.    OK.

  98.      Windows Standard Release 95 users: Select "Voodoo2 3D Accelerator" 
  99.                                         from the List and click OK.
  100.                                         Click OK again to save changes in
  101.                                         Device Manager.
  102.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 Users: Click on Finish to continue.
  103.                       Windows 98 users: Click on Next to continue.

  105. 6) You MAY then be prompted to insert the "Voodoo Graphics Drivers for
  106.    Windows 9X" Disk.  Again, point to the path you extracted the files 
  107.    to and press OK.
  108.  
  109. 7) Windows will copy the drivers. Reboot the system when prompted
  110.  
  111. 8) Install DirectX 5.0 or higher.  (If not already installed)
  112.

  115. No Current Drivers Installed
  116. ---------------------------------------------------

  118. 1) Start Windows and extract the drivers to a temporary directory.
  119.  
  120. 2) Shutdown Windows, Power off the system and install your Voodoo2
  121.    3D board into a PCI slot. 
  122.  
  123. 3) Restart Windows after hardware installation.
  124.  
  125. 4) Windows will detect a "PCI Multimedia Device", you need to:
  126.  
  127.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Select "Use Driver from Mfr"
  128.                                         and click OK
  129.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click the Next Button on the
  130.                                         Detection Dialog Box. Then click
  131.                                         "Other Locations"
  132.                       Windows 98 users: Click the Next Button twice on the
  133.                                         Detection Dialog Box. Ensure that
  134.                                         "Specify a Location" is checked and
  135.                                         "Microsoft Windows Update" is not
  136.                                         checked. Click Browse to continue.
  137.  
  138. 5) Point the driver location to where the files are extracted to and click
  139.    OK.  (Windows 98: You will need to click on Next to continue)
  140.  
  141. 6) You MAY then be prompted to insert the "Voodoo2 Drivers for Windows 9X"
  142.    Disk.  Enter the path the drivers are extracted to and press OK.

  144. 7) Windows will copy the drivers. Reboot the system when prompted
  145.  
  146. 8) Install DirectX 5.0 or higher.  (If not already installed)
